USA Pro Cycling Challenge

We are excited that the race will be coming right by our front door but also want to be sure all of our guests know that Hwy 82/Independence Pass will be closed from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. race day.  That means on the 24th guests that want to go out for the day need to leave before 11 a.m. and plan not to return till after 4 p.m.  Of course if you stay at the lodge that day you will have a grand place to watch all the action.  We will try and have the parking area such that you can bring a chair from your cabin and sit along the road.  I am disappointed my plans will take me to New Mexico that day and I'll miss all the fun.  More information on the road closure.

Is this an annual occurence? It would be amazing to see some pro athletes do their thing whilst lounging on a chair with a cold drink.
This would be a great option for vacationers of all ages to see.

My name is Marc, and aside from loving to travel and visit B&B's, I also work with Bescover. We offer an online directory of bed and breakfasts, as well as provide mobile technology for innkeepers like yourself.

I would like to invite you to to share pictures, inn information, or links to your blog on our facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/bescover

    have a great week

  2. Marc, Last year was the first time for the race. In fact they will be returning this year as well with some changes in routes. The bikers will traverse Independence Pass twice; first when traveling from Gunnison to Aspen on August 22nd and then again the next day as they go from Aspen to Beaver Creek.

Ok, I see, so it is seemingly becoming an annual event. Cyclist amaze me, especially since I have recently watched so many Olympic cycling events lately. It's too bad you missed the event, it would have been awesome to see some pictures of cyclists whizzing by the inn, as your guests cheered them on.
Here's to hoping the routes won't change your view for next year.
